ShipLogix implements CIDX Chem eStandards
Expands Market Leadership in the Chemical Industry
January 11th, 2005 - Seattle, Wa.
ShipLogix, the leading TMS provider to the Chemical Industry, has responded to recent
standardization initiatives in the industry by implementing CIDX eStandards for an $11.5
billion Chemical Manufacturing firm.
The Chemical Industry Data Exchange (CIDX) is an organization dedicated to serving the
specific needs of Chemical Manufacturers and their trading partners. They have created a
set of XML-based standards for trading transactions for such essential functions as
Logistics, Financial, Demand Forecasting, and Product Catalog Data. The Chem eStandards
increase efficiency of informational flow, thereby reducing transactional costs and
helping Chemical Industry trading partners to capitalize on the advantages of electronic
commerce.
ShipLogix has incorporated Chem eStandards into its robust TMS capabilities. Chemical
Manufacturers and Distributors can now collaborate with partners using the CIDX protocol
while still maintaining the same communication standards with carriers and other partners
who have not yet implemented the CIDX standards. ShipLogix' Chemical Industry customers
can expand their e-business transactional capabilities as the movement towards
standardization unfolds, and later be poised to abide by regulatory compliance measures
that develop.
"We are proud of the fact that ShipLogix is the first technology provider to enable CIDX
Chem eStandards to be used in the context of Transportation Management, " said Alan Van
Boven, CEO of ShipLogix. "We look forward to growing this capacity as the standards
initiative becomes more clarified in the future."
